The family across the street was foreclosed on by the bank who sold their home for a lot less than the assessed value. How do I know if the assessed value of my property is correct? You should first determine for yourself what your property is actually worth. This can be done by looking at recent property sales, contacting appraisers, and comparing the assessed value of your property to similar properties.
